Big field, plenty of winning chances, with the barrier draw throwing even more of a
conundrum ay punters with many of the main chances drawn awkwardly.
Gin Martinin, Festival Dancer & Nyota all go forward, plus a few from the outside
draws including Barb Raider who always races handy to the speed. Glint of Hope has
an issue from 14, she saty close when winning at Group 1 level in Adelaide last
time, she could be trapped in no fillies land unless eased for a sit. Should be heaps
of speed, so looking for backmarkers to get their chance in the race.
All things being equak, I’d like to be on Gysy Goddess, alas, she is drawn out in
Hampton Street so the Wizard will have to weave plenty of his magic to get the
Tarzino filly home from out there. Pike does excel on get back horses, finding the
right passage and timing his runs to perfection, so she can still win.
Think both Barb Raider & Glint of Hope have their work cut out for them from the
bad draws, both will need plenty of luck.
Honetcreeper a definite chance, was good in the Randwick Oaks on a bog track,
firmer going here will suit, Bowman on, barrier again a big concern. Biscayne Bay
was down the bog track at Randwick, was placed in the Victorian version of the
Oaks, Zahra goes on today is a big plus, she also in calculations.
Dynasties knows how to mix her form, if she brings the Bracelet win form from the
Gold Coast, a definite winning chance, J Mac back on a plus.
Belle Savior has been very good all through this preparation, winning first up over
1100m, then ran a bottler in the Roses last Saturday. Again, barrier is big worry, has
big money rider Ryan Maloney to overcome that.
Aravene has won her last two on very heavy tracks, won’t get that to help he in this
race however does have a decent draw so should get a nice run in transit just off
the speed, Prebble a plus.
Smirl ran third in the Bracelet & the Roses, given every chance in both, she sticks
on okay, J Mac has aborted her for Dynasties which is a good lead for punters.
Le Villi is an outsider with place claims. She was down the track on the bog at
Randwick before running on strongly late in the Roses last week indicating the extra
distance will suit, fit, well drawn, not the worst by any means.
Mokula an intriguing runner, the daughter of Oaks winner Dear Demi is 1400m up to
2200m, trip should suit however a huge ask.
Difficult to make a positive case for the others. Verona has been racing well,
however barrier 21 is a worry, and she may not run. Pike has jumped off to ride
Gypsy Goddess, so that is a good lead for punters.
Tough affair, not a race on which we should be lashing out.

Very compressed weight scale. Kementari has a huge advantage at the SW&P, however
which Kementari will arrive on the day is the big question. If the Group 1 winner turns up,
he wins with ease, he appears to prefer rain affcted ground these days, however did fail
on the heavy here last start, the answer will be known around 15:15 on Saturday.
Baller needs it dry, so he might improve with two runs under his belt and does have the
raw ability to win a race like this, H Bowman a plus. Niccononva is drawn awfully at the
1200m start, needs luck, ditto Prime Candidate and he may up to some of these anyway.
Shooting For Gold is very honest, fitter now, likes it dry, definite multiples chance. Stable
mate Tumbler Ridge arrives first up from a spell, will get back and run on late.
The two Tony Pike runners have some positives, especially Letsbeglam who on her day is
well above average. Drew wide and arguably should have beaten Written Beauty last start,
much better drawn here, she is a serious winning chance well in at the weights. Babylon
Berlin also wel drawn, forgive run last time from the wide draw, can improve.
Wandabaa an intriguing runner, hige run at Scone last start after a couple of nice efforts
at the elite level during the Sydney autumn, throw her into the multiples with The Wizard
aboard..
Always thought Sir Warwick had a nice race in him, freshened and trialled for this, not the
worst.
